We report with deep sorrow that Spc. Jeffrey M. Wershow, the son of our brother Jonathan F. Wershow, was killed in Baghdad, Iraq, on Sunday, July 6, 2003, while serving with the Army’s 124^th Infantry Regiment. He was 22 years old. 

Jeffrey, had been a student prior to being called to active duty in December 2002 as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Jeffrey lived with his father, Jonathan F. Wershow, and stepmother, Pamela A. Schneider, of Alachua. 

Funeral services will be held in Gainesville, on Sunday, July 13, 2003 at Oak Hall School, where Jeffrey graduated in 1999. He will be buried on the Wershow family farm in Alachua next to his grandparents, James S. and Dorothy F. Wershow.
