Hello to my Lambo brothers. It has been great continuing to hear from so
many of you. I appreciate your prayers, encouragement and warm wishes. You
have all played a role in giving me inner strength to take this challenge
head on. In keeping with our modern world and today's efficient
communication tools I have responded to a few Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQ's).
FAQ's
How are you feeling?
I am getting stronger. My upper body strength is fully recovered. My
abdominal and lower back strength is still weak in the areas around the
surgery. I am still wearing a plastic brace from below my arm pits to my
hips to support and protect the surgery area. I hope to get it off in the
next few weeks and begin rehab in that area.
How's your family?
My wife and kids are doing well. We are pretty much back in the family
groove. Well, at least the kids are. My wife is still carrying a heavy
load of work and family chores. All in all I would say we are doing GREAT!
Your wife sounds amazing, does she have a sister?
She is amazing, and she does have a sister, Jill. However, another Lambo
already grabbed her. She's married to Brother Bob Band.
Your wife sounds amazing, does she have a brother?
Well, guess you can't have a brotherhood this big and not get a few
questions like this. She has a brother, but he's taken too.
Have you had any recovery?
I have gained back some feeling in my butt, mostly discomfort, but beggars
can't be choosers. I am getting some voluntary muscle contraction in my
right quads, hamstrings and hip flexors. The contractions are very weak but
I'm working on improving it. The improvement will come as I hopefully get a
larger percentage of the muscle responding. The left leg is having some
recovery in similar areas, although significantly weaker.
What does this mean?
It's too early to know exactly what this means, but I am optimistic that
these are signs of great things to come. I hope that the coming months will
show great improvement.
What type of rehab therapy are you doing?
I go to physical therapy three times a week (about 3 hours per session) and
have hydrotherapy twice a week (about 2 hours per session). In addition, I
do electronic stimulation daily and have a home exercise program that I go
through daily as well.
When are you going back to work?
I have started going back one or two days a week for the last month. It's
tough to find the time (and energy) with all the therapy. I expect to start
to increase the work time as my energy level picks up. It improves every
day.
Who are you going to vote for?
Hey brother, this is a fraternity web site and I don't plan to spoil it by
voicing political views.
Well, so long for now. Thanks again for your support. Brothers Mine
Forever
